Origin & History

German Pointeraner was created by a mix of the German Shorthaired Pointer with the Weimaraner. German Shorthaired Pointer has existed since around the 17th-century, and Weimaraner dates from the early 19th-century.

It is unknown when German Pointeraner originated, but it was after 19th Century after Weimaraner became known. German Pointeraner was created for hunting and has mixed breeds.
